Great food and service. Best French onion soup I've had in the south. The short ribs were very tender.

I ate here with my girlfriend, we started with the pear salad which was drowning in the vinegrette & was way too sweet, for entrees i had the bistro bankok chicken, i have had better chicken from my locaql chinese & for a lot less money, my girlfriend had the salmon which was nothing to rave about, they served our food in an oversized cereal bowl & when i tried to cut the stems from my broccoli the bowl was tilting it was ridiculous, the staff were excellent always checking our needs, but if the bistro217 are going to advertise upscale dining show it in your food, i see other reviews here praising the food i think either they had not eaten for a few days before they arrived or the staff are writing the reviews just to get people in.

I have to admit I don't really remember what I had for dinner because it was quite a long time ago but the crab cakes here are the best. They are everything a crab cake should be. Next time I am down in Pawley's Island, I will definitely stop by here.

Bistro 217 is wonderful! This is our favorite place to have a nice dinner in Pawleys Island. I highly recommend the tomato crab soup. Delicious! The atmosphere is great and the service is spectacular. This is a more high end restaurant so the entrees start in the 20+ dollar range. But the food is excellent and worth the price. If you want to spend less you can enjoy an amazing salad or soup and an appetizer and that is more than enough to make a meal. I had the tomato crab soup and the fried green tomatoes with oyster appetizer for my dinner. Delish!

If you are in or around Pawleys Island you'll want to visit Bistro 217--one of our favorite local restaurants. Excellent food, warm ambiance and consistently good service. They are also our a preferred local caterer for special in-home dining events.

Very good food, but stick to dinner. Their lunch is a little too pricey

Great food. Great service. reasonable prices. This restaurant only suffers for atmosphere. The lighting is only soso and the walls could use something interesting. The John Cougar Mellencamp was an odd juxtaposition with the elegant food. Also excellent selection of wines by the glass.

Wow! Excellent. Everything is super fresh, unique, and delish! My husband and I were in town on vacay and ended up eating her with family one night and then for lunch the following day! For dinner we started with the whole fried fish for an appetizer. It is perfectly fried and comes with three yummy dipping sauces. For entrees I had a special which was some sort of white fish (can't remember exact name) over a shrimp risotto and was blown away! So yummy. The hubby had the shrimp n grits. DO NOT FORGET DESSERT. The chef makes homemade ice creams and we had a trio of chocolate cayenne, roasted banana, and mint chocolate chip. All super delicious and the mint chocolate chip had fresh mint in it! Yum! The following day for lunch we started with the tomato, crab, and jalepano soup. Wow. Do not miss this! My husband and I also split the crab cake sandwich and the wedge salad. Both delish. Lastly, we had the homemade brownie with roasted banana ice cream! Wow! Overall an excellent dining experience! Service was beyond expected both visits! We would be regulars if we lived there! Good selection of wines also! Great seafood and remember not to skip dessert!

Great food! I ordered the flounder, the portion was huge and it was delicious. The service was great!

Food did not live up to the price and expectations. Maybe if they limit the number of menu items and portion size, they can make what they end up serving better. Glass of red wine was way too warm. Service was good, ambiance was nice as well. Has promise, if they work on their execution.

I do love this restaurant. I am not sure if it's because of the calming zen like ambiance, the friendly staff, the caring owners or the outstanding food. I try something new every time I go to The Bistro but still have my favorite staples: Tuna Napoleon and the whole fried fish (dependent on the season of course). This restaurant has 2 dining areas, outside courtyard where there is a beautiful bubble fountain and ambient diffused light - Very chic. Smoking is allowed at the outside bar only, not at tables. Inside is also an option with a very comfortable bar. Candles and unique lights also make this a quieter hiding spot for those who need privacy maybe. Chef Adam has unique twists on classic dishes which is why I think so many people love the foot there. Their menu is very seasonal and most herbs and greens are home grown which always intensifies flavor. The dessert menu features a wide variety of home made ice creams which are also seasonal. I recommend classic vanilla, chocolate cayenne, banana in the fall, blueberry in the spring and cinnamon sugar in the winter - It tastes like Christmas! This is a great restaurant for any occasion, bringing the family in town, girls night out, baby showers, boys night with cigars and football, whatever it is, it can be done here. Hands down a favorite in Pawleys!

We had a dinner here and had, at best, mixed results. The fried green tomatoes and oysters appetizer were wonderful. My bride proceeded to crab bisque and the wedge salad with blackened shrimp. The shrimp were neither warm nor cool, but more like little stones. I had the grilled grouper -- supposed to be very fresh. It was cooked like rubber. The seasoning was excellent, but the result was not what one would expect for the price charged. There are much better options in this price range.

This was our first visit, but won't be our last. We were stunned at how wonderful in every way our dinner was. It reminded us of a top notch place in Napa. Food was extraordinarily good and service was excellent. We were particularly impressed that there was a large rehearsal dinner on the premises and we saw no diminution in food quality or service because of that. We would rate this #1 in Pawleys Island/Georgetown area.

We celebrated our anniversary there this week and were extremely happy with the atmosphere; food selection and our waitress, Aimee Lee, as she was just the cherry on the cake; her enthusiasm for the entrees was outrageous. We shared two appetizer specials, Grouper cheeks and Seared Tuna - both out of this world. Our entrée choices were the Scallops over risotto and Veal Piccata over pasta w/spinach. The veal was done to perfection; mouthwatering and such a huge portion that I was able to enjoy it again the next night at home. Give this restaurant a try - you will absolutely want to go back.

Great stop for our last night of vacation. The trigger fish special and grouper were fantastic as well as the tuna special appetizer. We had the brownie with homemade sea salt caramel ice cream for dessert. Service was great. My only complaint is that my son's ice cream came out partially melted. So glad we came back to Pawley's Island for a nice dinner on our last night.

Tasty food hood service reasonable price. I sat outside under the "tent" and was getting eaten alive by mosquitoes and bugs. They have fans but they just help cool the air a little or blow around warm air....one and done not worth returning.

Ordered Duck a l'orange: "Swiss char duck breast, duck confit, candied sweet potatoes, roasted Brussels sprouts" - a duck BREAST dish but what I got was a THIGH. No breast I've ever seen has two jointed bones in the middle. It was delicious but Whatever.

  • Puffy P.

It was good. But not so outstanding. I was excited to come after I've read reviews here, but maybe my expectation was too much. I ordered cheese grits and shrimp, the day's specials. It was good but a bit salty. The waitress at our table was not friendly with no smile. I just didn't see why people love this place so much. It was a regular bistro.

This place is truly a treasure! My husband and my 6 year old son came here while on vacation. My son is not very adventurous with food but the staff was very accommodating. We ordered the stuffed eggplant as an appetizer...it was so fresh the flavor was amazing. I ordered the chicken Marsala and my husband ordered the shrimp and scallop scampi. For desert we ordered cannoli's. EVERYTHING WAS AMAZINGLY and FRESH!! We loved this place!!!!

We had a very large group of 16 and everyone loved their meal and the service was fantastic. That is no small feat. The children's meals were generous and the adult portions perfect. I had the Mahi Mahi special over shrimp risotto and it was fantastic. Half of the adults had the short ribs and all gave two thumbs up. We will be back when in the area!

Here from Newport Beach, Ca golfing. Found this place and.... the calamari is the BEST I have ever had. The special courtesy of our awesome waitress Amy was great Mahi Mahi with chorizo and shrimp. Simply a great dining experience

Place is top of the line. Truly one of the best restaurants I've visited. The specials are usually amazing. Great service. Great steaks. Well seared sushi grade tuna. Food can be quite rich and a lack of carbs if your a IIFYM bodybuilder.

  • Bob P.

Went in with high expectations after reading all the reviews but was disappointed. Food all look good when it was delivered but little off the mark from flavor/taste standpoint. Also was higher priced than the $$. Most entrees were 27-30 alone.

  • Chris S.

Had the grilled pork chop special of the night. Better than any steak I've had anywhere. Better than family cooking on the grill at home. Highly recommend driving down and having dinner.

A real gem, that's a little hard to find but worth the effort. We had lunch and were blown away by the food. The Shepherds pie was fantastic, the beef was braised to perfection, the veggies and mashed potatoes were just perfect. The mrs had shrimp over gnocchi in a Gorgonzola creme sauce, again fantastic, I also recommend the tomato jalapeño crab soup is great, service is superior and lunch on the patio is just what the beautiful weather calls for, you can't go wrong planning to dine here

  • Art M.

Our second visit to this eatery was as satifsfying from a food standpoint as our first but we again felt a real lack of interest on the part of the wait staff in the quality of the dining experience. Service was efficient - but indifferent to the point of being off putting. That could explain why a foodie friend of ours that has rented a place down there for seveal years has never heard of it. It's unfortunate, because the food is very good. With more Southern hospitality Bistro 217 might deserve 5 stars.

  • Nixo A.

Yes, yes and yes again. I took a sandwich, came with an amazing shrimp soup, Asian style and fresh salad and vegetables. My picky daughter got the mahi mahi, it s been a long time since I did not have to help finish her plate. My wife got a gyro, so light and fresh. To make thing even better, each plates looked nice, presentation of each dish was also a hit. I would have expected the price to be much higher, it would still be a great deal for twice the amount.

The difference between a cook and a chef. The place has cooks and know nothing about cooking. We called in advance to see if they could handle a vegetarian in our party and they said they could handle it. They could not apparently. All our meals were not very good. It was not cheap either. The wine was the only good thing.

AWESOME !!!! Our server Rebecca was one of the best waitresses ever! She crab soup was good. It needed more crabmeat but the flavor was delicious. Tomato jalapeno soup was five stars. The asiago homemade rolls were to die for. The fillet mignon was perfectly done. My husband had the eggplant treasure pot and really enjoyed it. Can't comment on desserts as we were too full to eat them. Definitely is worth a second trip and hopefully they will increase to five stars.

Best restaurant in SC! Super fresh everything and all made from scratch. Inventive and creative without being fussy or weird. Staff is very professional and welcoming. You will have a great meal and know that your business is appreciated.

The starter at the golf course where we played recommended this place to us, and we were not disappointed. Every bite was divine. My husband ordered a seafood mix that normally came over eggplant. He asked if he could have it over pasta instead. No problem. I wanted she crab soup but only a bowl was offered on the menu but our server said he could give me a cup - no problem. I ordered the tuna special. It was perfectly cooked and delicious. We both had the pear salad which was every bit as good as the one I make at home. I loved that the bread basket contained not only bread but carrots and celery sticks as well. Our only complaint - the glass of wine (A to Z Pinot) that we have in our personal cellar at home and paid $14 a bottle was $9 a glass! Quite a mark up but maybe the difference is living in Oregon and buying an Oregon wine versus buying a glass of Oregon wine in a South Carolina restaurant. I highly recommend this place if you want fine dining.

Super fresh ingredients. I had the shrimp & grits then my mom had the fresh flounder in Pablo over field greens with goat cheese, strawberries & cantaloupe and a green ape vinaigrette. Both were super delicious and we traded halfway through which was a perfect combination of the hot creaminess of the shrimp & grits and the cool freshness of the flounder salad. Now we are stuffed and happy!

Wonderful. We went last night and I had the special Red snapper with shrimp risotto, my wife had the egg plant stuffed with grouper and scallops and the tuna tar tar appetizer and French onion soup, missy served us up some wonderful cocktails at the bar, the cheese dip for the bread is the best ever! Wonderful experience been here 4 times now for dinner and once for lunch, everything I have tasted in this resturant is wonderful and full of flavor!

We stopped in for a late lunch at Bistro 217 on a Friday. It was pretty crowded for the time. We split the crab nachos - awesome! The perfect balance of crab, fresh salsa and cheese. We split the burger too. The burger was yummy, but it doesn't stand out as one of the best we've had. Service was great. Love the outdoor heated patio! Wish they had beer on tap! Only bottles and a small selection.

Been coming to Pawleys for years and never stopped in at the Bistro. Shut the front door! Amazing! I cannot believe no one ever told me about it. Food is amazing! Had the grouper and it was cooked perfectly. The olive bread is as good as I have ever had. I will be back again and again. The self professed foodie has found a new fav.

The fact is the food is amazing. And I say that eating seafood heavy leftovers the day after. Highly recommend the tomato, crab, jalepeno bisque and the seafood choices. Great service and great food.

this place is absolutely top of the line! From the hostesses, to the bussers, to the servers- who do a wonderful job selling what "chef has prepared" to obviously the chefs themselves, it was all outstanding. My parents and sister both recommended this place and it clearly didn't disappoint. My husband and I ended up going here twice during our vacation to Pawley's Island and both times we both got the fish specials. This is fine dining at it's best!

Busy friendly place. This is a Must Dine when near Pawleys Island. We had the she crab soup, excellent, lots of crab, flavorful. I had the catfish Po' Boy and was delighted. My wife had the special, trout over salad and was very pleased. Great menu. Fairly expensive lunch, but no regrets. I'd come back.

Our whole family made reservations here for a night out while on vacation. It was delicious. I had the paella and it was fantastic. It was full of great seafood and had lots of taste. The food took awhile to get to our table, but it was worth the wait. It was pretty pricy but the food was great so it wasn't a big deal. The lighting is very dim which I always dislike. It's probably supposed to make the ambience nicer but I like to be able to see everyone clearly in a cheerful atmosphere. Overall the food was very good, service was great, and we would definitely return next year on vacation.

Stopped in here on the way to Myrtle Beach airport. The grouper sliders were delicious. Incredibly fresh and the little salad/cole slaw thing was super tasty. Oysters were alright, but the fried green tomatoes were crisp and delish. Now I never order calamari just because you see it on every menu in every restaurant and it just seems pretty boring. But the folks eating next to me were ranting about it so I caved and got some. They were really yummy but what really made them stand out were the sauces. One was this spicy jelly and the other this balsamic glaze thing. I would have happily drank a couple of glasses of those sauces. They were really good. The tomato she-crab was alright but I just tasted tomatoes and not much else. However, my sister loved it. She thought it was creamy and tasty and with just the right amount of jalapeño. But I'm the one with awesome taste buds, just keep that in mind :-) Oh and one of the guys from the kitchen sounded and looked like Jean Reno, which was awesome.

Upon pulling up, was worried it was too foo foo, but after inspection, is fantabulosa! We all got salads (oyster, scallop, and fried green). All were wonderful and tasty. Prices were reasonable. Sit outside. Would return.

Fantastic food, excellent service!! I don't live in the area, but will be returning the next time I am in town! PS. The Ruben sandwich is fantastic!!!!!! P.P.S... try the homemade ice cream! You wont be sorry!

  • Cassandra S.

Loved it. Everything was delicious. Oysters tasted fresh. Tomato crab jalapeño soup was creamy and amazing. The seared scallop salad was the best! Perfectly cooked scallops, tasty dressing, the right mix of flavors! And I wanted the homemade ice cream to last forever! I loved this place and would definitely recommend it to others.

GREAT FOOD! Great service! My wife hit the spot for her meal, Shrimp Scallops & Lobster over Fettuccine. The scallops are the best either of us have ever had. I had the Red Snapper, the chef special for the night. It was served over mashed potatoes. All of which was delicious. Couldn't be happier!

  • Marelle C.

Dinner was amazing here. The food was outstanding and the service was classy and relaxed. The starter snacks with veggies, crackers and pimiento cheese was a nice touch and very tasty. We ordered the fried green tomatoes and oysters appetizer because the green tomatoes were in a few restaurants we had looked at. I had never had them before and I really liked them with the bacon cream sauce - the bacon flavor was not overwhelming. For entrees, I ordered the sea scallops with creamed corn risotto and my boyfriend ordered a halibut special that I believe was cornmeal crusted with crab succotash. His halibut was very good, but my scallop entree was incredible! The risotto was the best I have ever had. The scallops were meaty and perfectly cooked. The lobster carrot reduction was a nice dipping sauce, even though the scallops needed nothing else. Great meal! Will return on the next vacation.

  • McKensey S.

The service was superb, the food was delicious, well priced for the portions, and a pleasant surprise! (Considering there weren't any entrees that immediately caught our eye on the website ahead of time... Specials were nice additions to the menu and the apps and salads offered a great variety.) The timing of courses was relaxed and perfect. My lemon drop martini was fresh-tasting and well poured (i.e. just the right amount of strong!) The wine list was not extensive but it offered a limited but well chosen selection at a variety of price points. We very much enjoyed the atmosphere and the comfortable privacy of our booth. Considering the small "store-front" entrance, the space was fabulous! Our server JR was knowledgable and generally outstanding! He seemed to show up at all the right times during our meal. He was considerate, attentive and a great judge of a table - casual and friendly but appropriately formal. We were vacationing with family and this dinner was our chance for a night to ourselves. It was absolutely lovely and we hope to return again next year!

  • Janet H.

We absolutely loved our dinner here - honestly think it is one of the best meals we have ever had! The chef found out it was our first visit to the restaurant & gave us a complimentary shrimp cocktail. We both ordered the She Crab soup, my husband had the lobster & crab fettuccine & I had the red snapper special - everything was cooked to perfection! Although we were stuffed we "forced" ourselves to split the triple berry cobbler...we were NOT disappointed. We visit Pawley's Island about once a year & we definitely be back!

I first discovered Bistro 217 last year while on vacation with the family and remembered it as my favorite meal of the week. This year we were back in the area and when I got the opportunity to pick the restaurant for the last night of our trip I had to pick Bistro 217 again! I was not disappointed!! We chose to sit inside although there is also a nice, covered outdoor patio area. The staff are all super friendly, we were greeted warmly on arrival and thanked for our visit upon departure. Our server, Jamie, was very knowledgeable about the menu and had no problem recalling the large number of appetizer and entree specials offered by the chef that night. There's a definite Asian fusion influence on a number of dishes, as well as several great seafood options. Our meal started with a bread basket and a tasty pimento cheese spread, followed by soup and salad. The tomato, crab and jalapeno soup is a must, this stuff is seriously addictive!! The pistachio encrusted goat cheese salad is also delicious. The cheese is served warm, which definitely takes the salad up a notch! One little tip is that the servers will quite happily split salads in the kitchen without any fuss or up-charge. This is a good thing as it might enable you to find room for an additional course! I had the grilled filet mignon with shrimp, served with a Gruyere potato cake and creamed spinach. My steak was cooked perfectly to temperature and was a very generous portion. Others in the family had the Hoisin & Sesame seared salmon (big thumbs up!) and the braised short rib (which was enormous!!). Sadly by the end of the meal we had no room left for dessert, which always breaks my heart! This was until someone had a stroke of genius with the idea of getting dessert to go, and our server was happy to indulge us. We were able to get a generous serving of the tiramisu which served as the perfect accompaniment to a night cap back at our condo. The perfect ending to a great family vacation. Thank you Bistro 217, see you next time we're in town!

My wife and I just got back from dinner at Bistro 217. Our second time there. It's one of those special restaurants along the strand. Tonight our meals were once again outstanding. I had the Ahi tuna app and my wife the she crab. Soup. Entrees were the Lobster, Shrimp, Scallops over Fettuccini and the 217 eggplant treasure chest. Once the dinner ended the mojo of the evening crashed hard. See, our waitress had a party of 14 and us only 2. She got bogged down it seems with their desert orders and the dinner timing thing blew up. The desire for an after dinner cocktail, coffee or desert was gone.. Not sure of the solution and I'm not a venter or complainer but it did impact the evening I'm sorry to say.

The best part of the dinner was the Rice Krispy treat that came with the $10 desert. Food was over seasoned/to spicy, including the chocolate which had quite a kick that is hard to describe. The server did his job but seemed to care less about the smaller tables. My wife tried to eat her dinner but the seasoning or spice in her dish was so strong she just couldn't and maybe that's the way it was intended but no one asked if it was ok after she tried it...disappointed, worst $80 spent in a long time.

Absolutely amazing. Started with the whole snapper appetizer which was incredible and got the scallops for an entree. Some of the best scallops I've ever had. Finished with the white chocolate bread pudding.. Everything was delicious. One of my favorite restaurants in the Myrtle Beach/Pawleys area

Showed up about a half hour early for my 845p reservation in order to have a drink and check the place out. Ordered a mojito an was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't overly sweet like many places seem to name them. We were seated promptly at 845p, which I thought was impressive considering it was a busy Friday night on July 4th week. I ordered a bowl of the tomato, crab, and jalapeño soup to start, followed by a NY strip special that the chef had that night. Another member of my table had a wedge salad and a crabcake. We also ordered a bottle of Cake Bread Chard for the table. I should say that the wine list here was very good, and very, very affordable. Wines on there list normally sell for $20. Bottle more back home in NYC. The food service was FAST. My soup tasted great (and I normally don't like crab). It had some heat from the jalapeños, but it wasn't spicy of that makes any sense. I didn't see or taste any pepper slices, so I'm assuming they were puréed into the tomato base. I barely finished my soup when my Steal arrived. It was big. I was expecting a 14oz Strip like most places provide, but was shocked at the nearly 20oz Steak that was put down in front of me. It was cooked perfectly (ordered medium rare), and tasted amazing. In the end I had to take the last quarter of the steak home as I was stuffed. The desserts looked great, but we simply had no room for dessert. The prices are reasonable too. Even with a $60 bottle of wine the bill was only $120 for the 2 of us (plus another $15 for our 2 drinks at the bar prior to sitting). I will definitely be back here. It is at the top of my list for places to eat in the Myrtle area.

Amazing Food, Creative Menu, Fresh Seafood from our local waters everyday. They are very friendly from the moment you walk in the door. The heated outdoor seating is what we prefer. The Tomato Crab Jalapeno soup is out of this world. also try the Fried Okra appetizer.

JR was an excellent waiter! Yummy Breads + dippy stuff (not sure what it was, maybe hummus of some kind?) lobster + crab fettuccine was decent but a little fishy tasting. The asian chicken with rice was yummy!

  • Russ J.

Bistro is one of the top 3 places in the area. Better food can only be found in Charleston, Myrtle Beach has nothing this good to offer. Fresh ingredients, careful preparation, and innovative recipes make the food here excellent. The service is also attentive and professional. While a little pricey, you get what you pay for. Try it and enjoy.

I have lived here for over a year and never even heard of Bistro 217. We had lunch and delicious it was. My boyfriend had the potato soup and the country fried steak. I had an order of the fried okra and the veggie quesadilla. Everything was fresh and yummy. We will return for lunch again.

No way to go wrong here! Timing was perfect for soft shell crab, and it was fabulous.

I had the fried okra as an app and it was cooked perfectly. Not to greasy and the sauce it was paired with was fantastic. For dinner, the Georgia scallops where perfectly cooked. Paired with carrots and butternut squash risotto, the dish was mouth watering. The wine list was lacking a bit of variety. I had a glass of the crios Malbec and it was honestly not a good Malbec at all. The service staff was fantastic and very attentive! I would definitely recommend this restaurant with a small caveat about the wine.

Great food, excellent salads. If the fish hadn't been a touch overcooked would be five stars.

Outstanding. Perfect Pawleys place. Green tomato oyster appetizer was memorable. Incredible whole fried Black Sea bass.

This was my first visit to Pawleys/Litchfield and we were looking for a couple unique restaurants while visiting. I read great reviews of Bistro 217 and they were all right on! It was a great dinner. We didn't make reservations (it was a weeknight so we didn't think it would be all that busy) so sat on the patio, which was fine. The bread basket had some wonderful breads in it (and a fantastic dip!) I had the Shrimp N Grits for the entree and it was wonderful. My friend had the grilled chicken with mashed potatoes and she raved about that dinner the rest of the week ;) It was definitely the best meal we had at our week in Pawleys/Litchfield and if we come back, we'll definitely visit again!

This might be the best restaurant in Pawleys Island. High end, delicious, creative, fresh, amazing dishes! Nice decor and the staff are really nice!

Yum! We got take out here last night and thoroughly enjoyed the entree and salad. We had the spicy seafood pasta, which was a little oily, but delicious nonetheless. The pizza was good too. The side salad with that came with the pasta was not great, as it was made with big chunks of iceberg cores, which sort of gave the impression of a bag salad. The staff were friendly and the order was ready on time.

Great snapper special! Beautiful presentations, full of flavor. Great atmosphere. Will be back next time I travel this way.

This place is a hidden gem. Not easy to see from the highway, it is actually quite large with ample indoor and covered patio seating year round. Bar and Grill is how this place gets categorized, although Bistro 217 is classy enough to dress up a bit or relaxed enough to be beach casual. The service is excellent. The food and wine list is a pleasant surprise compared to what you usually see in the area. It keeps us coming back every year when we are at the beach.

This place impressed me. In all my years coming to Litchfield, we've tended to eat at Frank's or go low end fried seafood. This beats Frank's by a mile. The meal started with a bread basket with a variety of breads, some flavored. I especially like a bread with herbs and veggies baked in. I ordered a Southern cheese plate, which had pickles to die for and pimento cheese. I could have eaten just that and been happy. Everyone, including my 16 year old son, raved about the pear salad. I had the striped bass special, which was well cooked and quite tasty. My husband ordered the treasure chest and said it was really good and my son raved about his special, a peanut encrusted snapper. We also asked if the chef could whip up some extra eggplant for us, which he did, fried with a little cornmeal and presented with a dipping sauce. It converted my 12 year old to eggplant--quite a feat! I skipped dessert, but tasted others. They have about a dozen homemade ice creams. We had the roasted banana, and it was excellent. We also got creme brûlée and peach cobbler. I didn't try the cobbler because my son gobbled it down too fast. Service was really great. Our waiter, Sean ( or Shawn) was laid back, informative, and kept us well served. He made our experience relaxing and fun. I liked sitting outdoors but others found it too warm. If you prefer indoors, make reservations early. Parking can also be challenging as they are located in a shopping center. I'll definitely be going back next time I'm in town

This place is amazing. The wait staff is on top of everything and very knowledgeable. The hog snapper was the best meal one of us had ever had. The seafood pasta is the best I've ever had and is chocked full of seafood. They do homemade ice cream about 10 different flavors and lots of other good options for dessert. The tuna Napoleon appetizer was great, as was the tomato, crab, and jalapeño soup. My family is extremely picky and we come to Pawleys island every year, and this is the best place we have had yet. The outdoor patio is also an awesome area to sit.

We visited Bistro 217 on our recent trip to Litchfield. The food quality and atmosphere were excellent. The waiter was extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the menu. Food was presented very nice and tasted great.

Great restaurant and food quality is excellent. Tomato, crab & jalapeno soup is great and my wife loved the Napoleon Tuna. I had the Mahi special which was very tasty. Also prompt service. A point of clarification on pricing. This is a nice restaurant - entrees avg $25-$35. Not sure what that would rate in yelp's scale but should be higher that $$. Overall, very nice restaurant.

My wife and I ate hear on vacation. Bistro 217 lives up to the five star Yelp rating. Dinner was great. I had the Lobster, Shrimp and Scallops over fettuccine and could not believe the amount of fish on top. Could not finish the meal and my wife had the remaining fish on a salad the next day. My wife had the scallops which were perfectly prepared. Had the oyster rockerfeller for special for an appetizer. We never had them before but they were great. Only disappointment was that were were too full for desert. Will definitely be back to Bistro 217 when we are hear on vacation again.

This is easily the best meal we had over our week in South Carolina. Oddly enough, the most affordable as well. Service staff is great food is outstanding. Just a simple little Bistro that packs a great punch. Gourmet for a great price.

My husband and I were on on our way back to Myrtle Beach from a day trip to Charleston. We passed by it and just decided to stop in, as I was craving a burger and it seemed to be a likely place to have one. The menu looked great but burgers were only on the lunch menu, we however, asked and they accommodated us and made me a burger! My husband had the Filet Mignon with seared shrimp with red potatoes filled with blue cheese. Although that wasn't exactly on the menu, they still were very accommodating! Both of our meals were delicious. Not only that but the service was excellent, the servers checked up on us often, our water and iced tea were refilled often. We would love to come back again and would recommend it.

While on a two family vacation, we almost passed on Bistro 217 because of the prices. I am so glad we didn't because this was one of the best meals I have ever had and well worth every penny. The service was perfect (I think our server's name was Tim) - the kind of service you rarely see anymore. I had the lobster, scallops, and shrimp over pasta along with a warm goat cheese salad. 24 hours later, I can't stop thinking about it! Our kids had appetizer ribs and loved them. The three other adults had New York strip, scallops with risotto, and the peanut encrusted salmon. Perfection! I rarely rant about restaurant experiences but oh my, this was a terrific choice!

Boyfriend said it was his favorite meal all weekend. We had lunch there, and everything was perfect. I had a tuna dish that was piled high and was full of flavor and really well balanced. lovely presentation as well. bf had the special salad and loved it. Service was great -- every one was smiling and very southern. We sat outside and it was just a perfect day.

Terrific sophistication in the middle of chain restaurants and way southern fried stuff. We ate outside with a good ambience. The owner-chef is creative, using a slight asian flare. I had terrific fish in a nice light broth. The wait staff was nice, but the service was slow. Then again, most of Pawleys Island is slow!
